Install LibreOffice 4.1.1 On Linux RHEL/CentOS 5.X & 6.X

System Requirements:
 

  • Linux kernel version 2.6.18 or higher.
  • glibc2 version 2.5 or higher.
  • gtk version 2.10.4 or higher.
  • Pentium-compatible PC (Pentium III, Athlon or more-recent system recommended).
  • 256Mb RAM (512Mb RAM recommended).
  • Up to 1.55Gb available hard disk space.
  • X Server with 1024x768 resolution (higher resolution recommended), with at least 256 colors.
  • Desktop - Gnome or KDE.

     Install Libreoffice 4.1.1 on Linux RHEL/CenrOS 5&6


Step1: In this Step Download LibreOffice 4.1.1 Packages
 

For RHEL/CentOS 32 bit
 

 #cd /opt
#wget  http://donate.libreoffice.org/home/dl/rpm-x86/4.1.1/en-U  /LibreOffice_4.1.1_Linux_x86_rpm.tar.gz
             

    
For RHEL/CentOS 64 bit
 

   #cd /opt
  #wget http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/tdf/libreoffice/stable/4.1.1/rpm/x86_64/LibreOffice_4.1.1_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz
                   



  

Step2: In this Step Unzip LibreOffice 4.1.1 Package
     

     Using tar command extract these packages , see below
 For 32 bit OS
 
 # tar -xvzf LibreOffice_4.1.1_Linux_x86_rpm.tar.gz


 For 64 bit OS
 
   #tar -xvzf LibreOffice_4.1.1_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz                     



Step3: Installing LibreOffice 4.1.1


For 32 bit

 # cd /tmp/LibreOffice_4.1.1_Linux_x86_rpm/RPMS/
 # rpm -Uvh *.rpm


For 64 bit

 # cd /opt/LibreOffice_4.1.1.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm/RPMS/
 # rpm -Uvh *.rpm

                                


Step4:  Starting LibreOffice 4.1.1  

     Type  this command on terminal , then open welcome screen of Libreoffice.

    
                # libreoffice4.1.1
